We
didn't actually do anything to the bedroom, but I guess this counts. We
just installed an attic fan to help vent out that hot air that gets trapped
up in our bedroom. I think I picked the dumbest day to do it since it
was like 90 degrees outside making the attic about 150 degrees. I had
to cut a hole in the closet to get access to the attic since there was
no way to get up there before. Once I got up there, I could see where
the fan should go. The plaster ceilings are a huge pain to cut through.
They are like cement or something, so it grinds all of the teeth off of
my sawzall blade in about 5 minutes. I went through about 3 blades just
cutting the hole. The plaster is also a huge mess. It got dust everywhere,
and me being sweaty just made it worse. I was a dirty mess.
Here
is a quick picture of the finished fan. Also shown is the trick attic
access door that I made from one of our old cabinet fronts. It looks pretty
funny, but works really well.
Bedrooms
Here
are some before and after pictures of the spare bedroom that we just finished.
This
is the bedroom before we started. Notice the beautiful baby blue paint and
curtains.
Here
is the finished project. We painted all of the furniture and got drawer
pulls to match them all. The walls are sort of a darker shade of pink. It
looks darker in real life than in the picture. The first shot is while it
is in process. Syd never helps, he always just tries to screw things up.
Like this, where he painted a self portrait on the wall with the new paint.
Older
Stuff
This
is more of an update for Syd. He got himself a new tent! He loves it. He got
it as a birthday present from Mom and Dad and won't come out. It is way bigger
and much more sturdy.
