Right now I am waiting on a guy who says he will sell me the extra bus tin that I need to continue with the project.  I can't really go any further until I get that.

I plan to try to use a Webber progressive single carburator for this engine.  the manifold for that thing is going to be a nightmare, but I already have it, and if it works, it will be a lot cheaper than dual carbs.  One nice thing is that the throttle cable for that carb is on the far right side, which will be perfect because it will allow me to offset the whole carb to the left to clear the alternator.
I got an e-mail from Dad, that he and Steve put a dryer vent part on their gas heater in the Ghia.  They said that it made a world of difference.  I had always considered extending the heater pipe from my car's heater, but didn't think that it would do that much.  When I heard this, I got home after work and built this contraption.
Before I added this extension, I was freezing my butt off in the car, even when it was only 40 degrees and the heater was cranked to full blast.  I ran this piece of dryer pipe to a swivel 90 degree piece of duct work.  It is great because now I can point the heat in any direction that I want to.  It is even better because I atttched it to a bolt that I welded to the bottom of the ashtray, so you can slide it closer and away from you by pulling the ashtray in our out.

This is the greatest thing that I have done to my car in a long time.  No longer am I freezing, but instead can comfortably take my coat off.  It is so warm now that I can actually turn the heater down.  It all easily unbolts for summer time.

What a difference it makes to direct the heat onto you instead of onto the cold floor, which just cools the air back to freezing cold.  Cold air on the outside is rushing by the floor so fast that it immediately and continuously cools the air that blows over it on the inside, making the heater pretty much worthless.  No wonder it never felt any wamer in there.  I just have to thank Steve and Dad for doing this to their Ghia, or I would probably never have tried it.  Every Thing owner needs this.  It cost about 5 bucks and takes about 30 minutes to build.
